Thank you to everyone who provided feedback. The final report including both emergency response plans, as well as a report on what was heard during engagement is available in the Documents section.

Thanks to funding from the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre, we are developing Emergency Response Plans for Extreme Heat and Wildfire Smoke, as well as a report with recommendations for what can be done to adapt our town to the risks of extreme heat and wildfire smoke.

Through this process, we will complete a review of the extreme heat and wildfire smoke risks to the Town of Canmore. This includes identification of the risk of these events occurring over time, areas of town that are most vulnerable to these hazards, individuals who may be most impacted, and measures the Town of Canmore could take to prepare for, adapt to, and mitigate the risks associated with these events.
