I would be sure to pack food for me and my dogs!

With a treatment system you can drink any water...

My kids agree we would take a water filter (we have a Lifestraw and a camping filter) so we can find water anywhere and make it clean to drink. I'd also throw in my hand-held solar device-charger. And thanks to my mom's advice I always have a sleeping bag (and other emergency supplies) in my car. :)
